This year, they invite audiences to travel back in time to the golden era of Thai contemporary music in the concert Song Story Concert: “The Prelude”. The event brings together the charm of beloved songs cherished for over 40 years—from the era of Suntharaporn to The Impossible. Join us for an unforgettable musical journey while sharing kindness, as part of the proceeds will be donated to the Bhumibol Adulyadej Hospital Foundation.
The concert will be held on Sunday, December 21st at 2:00 PM, at the Main Hall, Thailand Cultural Centre. Tickets are now available on Ticket Melon and the Pieamsuk Old Songs Preservation Facebook page.
Prepare to immerse yourself in the enchanting atmosphere of sweet, timeless melodies performed by artists from multiple generations. Featured performers include Gun Napat, Arm Kankarn, Lukwa Pijika, Ake Chokchai, Pingping Suriwae, Bellola Kanitha, Eungeoi Papavarint, Tewit Chaithat, along with two National Artists and true legends of Thai music—Rungruedee Paengphongsai and Winai Panthurak.
Together, they will revive eternal classics from Suntharaporn, Luk Krung, Luk Thung, and Northern folk songs—beloved by families across generations—from grandparents to grandchildren. Expect to hear favorites such as Wang Nam Won, Pen Pai Mai Dai, Namta Saeng Tai, Sam Hua Jai, Kha Chan Hai Tai Dee Kwa, Lan Ya Mo, Sanaeha, Bepaangkorn, Baan Bon Doi, Krasae Khao Ma Si, Poo Kai Kai Long, Long Mae Ping, Rangwan Dae Khon Chang Fan, and many more—beautifully brought back to life on stage.
The concert will be accompanied by the Chalermrach Orchestra under the direction of National Artist Virat Uthitthawon, enhanced by the powerful harmonies of Suanplu Chorus. Spend 3.5 hours filled with nostalgia, sweetness, and melodic beauty. The event will be hosted by Green Nithiwat, storyteller of People You May Know, known for narrating the lives of legendary Thai artists.
Rungruedee Paengphongsai, owner of several timeless hits, shares that Thai contemporary songs possess captivating lyrics, melodies, and unique vocal ornamentation, which enhance their emotional depth—especially in songs rich with heartfelt meaning.
Meanwhile, Winai Panthurak, founding member of The Impossible, reflects on the band’s musical journey that began in 1966. After years of experience and stories within the music industry, the band’s legacy has become deeply memorable for generations of fans.
Thus, Song Story Concert: “The Prelude” offers a rare opportunity to reunite the beauty of Thai contemporary songs from various eras on one stage. Performed with dedication by seasoned and new-generation artists, it aims to allow audiences to once again experience the enduring charm of the melodies that have been cherished by Thai people for decades.
